Although she booked seats to see the late King’s funeral procession, Miss Lesla Sheldon, an actress, of Queen’s Club-gardens, failed to get a glimpse of it, and at Marylebone County Court yesterday she obtained judgment for L2, paid for two seats, against Miss E. M. Hill, of Cambridge-terrace, Edgware-road.

Actress Hurt in Snatching Animal from Under Horse’s Hoofs

It will be ten or fourteen days, it was stated by the doctor yesterday, before Miss Lesla Sheldon, the young and pretty actress, of Queen’s Club-gardens, who was injured whilst saving her pet dog from a horse in Hyde Park, will be able to leave the house.

Whilst talking to a friend her dog ran in front of an approaching landau, and, though whistled after, took no notice, so Miss Sheldon dashed after the animal, pulled it away safely, but was herself knocked down and severely kicked on the ankle.

Seen by The Daily Mirror yesterday, Miss Sheldon was very modest about her plucky act and seemed more concerned about her dog.  She added that she would have done the same thing for anyone else’s dog in similar circumstances!
