RIVER VICTIM WAS MONTCLAIR YOUTH

Clothing Worn by Suicide Belonged to Sheldon W. Case.

Clothing worn by Sheldon W. Case, twenty-four years old, when he disappeared from the home of his father, Dr. Levi W. Case, 41 Park street, Montclair, Wednesday morning, led to the identification of the young man’s lifeless body yesterday.  It is belived that Case was the person who is said to have refused to be rescued form drowning in the Hudson river late Wednesday afternoon.  His body was identified yesterday by Miss Dorothy B. Case, a sister.

The young man was an inspector in the Edison works in West Orange.  Previous to his employment with the Edison Company he was engaged in the automobile business, having erected a garage at the rear of his father’s property on Munn street.

Dr. Case says his son had been in poor health and must have lost his mind temporarily.

The young man was discovered in the Hudson River by Captain Boaz while walking the deck of his barge.  Boaz shouted to the crew of the tugboat Oradell, which was near by.  The tug crew made every effort to save him, but he successfully fought them off.

The young man had been acting strange of late, but it was supposed that he was suffering from nervousness only and that he would soon recover.
