To the Honorable the Judge of Probate for the County of Monroe.

The undersigned Sophronia Sheldon respectfully represents that she is the widow of the late Milo Sheldon, late of the township of Summerfield in said county who deceased at said Summerfield on the 17th day of December last, leaving Estate in said county to the amount of about four hundred dollars and that it is … that the said should be duly administered on according to law.  As the said Milo Sheldon died intestate the undersigned request that she may be appointed administrator … estate.

This contract made the twenty ninth Day of August AD one thousand eight hundred and fifty four Between Milo Sheldon of the Township of Summerfield in the County of Monroe State of Michigan and Sophrona Sheldon the wife of the said Milo Sheldon parties of the first part and John Maryfield of the Township of Dundee in the County of Monroe & State Aforesaid party of the Second part Witnesseth that the said party of the first part in consideration of the sum of Two hundred Dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the Second part in consideration of the covenants to be performed by the said party of the second part as hereinafter … and agreed to Sell to the said party of the second part on condition hereinafter expressed all the following within the land situated in the county of Monroe and state of Michigan to wit bounded North East corner of the East half of the North east corner of Section thirty five township six south of Range sex east containing five acres of land and no more being the same land that Milo Sheldon purchased of the heirs of Mr. .. and the aid parties of the first agrees to execute and … to the said party of the second part his heirs executors or administrators a Warranty
